Margaret Rogerson

Margaret Rogerson is happiest hunched over her computer, subjecting fictional people to a wide range of physical and emotional tortures. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found watching documentaries, spending time in nature, and taking photos of mushrooms shaped like butts. Her greatest life achievement occurred in second grade, when she learned to flawlessly imitate the vocalizations of her class guinea pig, Peanut. 3 QUESTIONS WITH MARGARET ROGERSON!

1. What was your favorite childhood book?

There are so many books that shaped me as a kid, but I have to go with Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede, which I re-read at least a dozen times, carrying around as a battered paperback wherever I went.

2. What is your favorite scene you’ve ever written?

Hmmm… let’s say the teapot scene in An Enchantment of Ravens. It was a completely unplanned scene, and I happened to write it spontaneously while spending the day outdoors at my favorite park in beautiful October weather, which I think gave it a certain panache!

3. What question do you wish more readers asked you?

I’m an ardent lover of science and nature documentaries, so I wish more readers asked for documentary recommendations! Some favorites of mine are Life on Fire, The Poisoner’s Handbook, Ireland’s Wild River, and The Planets on PBS.
