Hmmm. It’s that period of the year when the holidays are over and everyone has pretty much given up on their resolutions. There are no more parties or family dinners. It can be a bit…dull, unless you’re an Aquarius. The Aquarius group is much more than what they seem. Sure, they love their alone time (doesn’t everyone?) and they are known to be in their own thoughts more often than not. Yet, they are assertive, highly intelligent beings. In other words, this group is not easily fooled. So, in honor of our friends, the water bearers, let’s see what books are best equip for their sharp minds!

The Perfect Book Recommendations for Aquarius!

1. Girls with Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young

This book is one of those books that really makes you think about things in a different perspective. Also, Mena, the main character has had the wool pulled over her eyes for far too long. Now, she’s starting to realize things and she knows something isn’t right. Like our Aquarius peeps, Mena is not just going to believe it because someone told her anymore. She’s ready to take the reins of this mystery and solve a secret that is far out of the world she thought she lived in.

2. Period Power by Nadya Okamoto

This book is just one of those books EVERYONE should read, it is informative, powerful, and it is jam-packed with lots of information many don’t know. The Aquarius sign loves new knowledge, and they love books that give them something else to think about. With Period Power, they’ll have a whole year’s worth of content to keep them occupied.

3.  Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian

This novel isn’t just about an ice cream stand that serves delicious ice cream, I mean yes, that’s a main point, BUT there’s so much more. Girl power, friendships, a hate to love romance. When Amelia realizes that the all girls staffed beloved ice cream stand she’s been working at over the summer for years will now be managed by Grady Meade, the owner’s grand-nephew. Amelia’s in for a summer, but what she doesn’t know is it might be the most unforgettable one yet. An Aquarius loves a challenge, especially one for a good cause, so feast on this novel that’s nothing but that!

4.  Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw

Nora Walker is the next generation of the Walker witches. She’s quiet and likes to keep to herself. There is nothing better for an Aquarius then to just have a nice day to themselves where they are free to make their own decisions. Nora loves to be alone too; when she’s in the woods by herself with the trees, she feels most at home. That is, until she finds a body in the deepest part of the forest. Upon Nora finding this boy, she’s even more surprised she finds him alive and now has to find out just exactly HOW did he survive. The boy, Oliver, wants to know more about Nora, and just what exactly she knows about these powerful woods.

5. Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

Will’s brother, Shawn, was just shot and killed. Now Will has to do something about it and he reflects what he’s about to do within the time of his ride in the elevator to the ground. Along the way, he sees people, hears stories, and might even realize something he never has before. Aquarius’s respect fairness and have a deep passion for justice, like Will, they want to take action against the wrong. Yet, also like Will, they understand not everything is as it seems.

6. I’ll Never Tell by Abigail Haas

Speaking of things that aren’t always what they seem…this book is filled with more mysteries and twists than there are stars in the sky. Ok…not THAT much but, seriously, if you’re an Aquarius, this book will have you at the edge of your seat. You’re all for justice but WHO exactly deserves it in this book? Hmm. You’ll have to read and see.

7. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

The Aquarius is under the element of air. Air elements are known to be intelligent and rather opinionated. They earn their pennies the fair way and will do anything to get to where they want to go. Dimple must be a star sign under the air element too, because whether her parents like it or not, she wants to follow her OWN path and to be the next female tech genius. Rishi, on the other hand is actually a pretty romantic guy and won’t let Dimple get away so easy. It sounds like a challenge (and an Aquarius also LOVES a challenge).

8. Scythe by Neal Shusterman

This first book in the Arc of a Scythe trilogy will truly make you think about society and challenge everything you ever thought you knew about it. Like I said, our water bearing friends love. A. Challenge. Even if they don’t think they do, they do!
