Saying goodbye to your favorite character from a book or series is never easy. With standalone novels, I am always curious as to where the characters are after the last page. Luckily, some authors offer a glimpse by including cameos in their following books. Check out these books that feature cameos of characters from your favorite books!

Books with Cameos of Your Favorite Characters

1. The Shadowhunters series by Cassandra Clare

You never have to really say goodbye to your favorite characters when a Shadowhunters series end because they’ll most likely make an appearance in other Shadowhunters books! Tessa and Will and many other characters from the Infernal Devices series play huge parts in the Last Hours series, as these books focus on their children. Tessa makes other cameos in the Mortal Instruments. Speaking of the Mortal Instruments, many characters from this OG Shadowhunters series reappear in the Dark Artifices. And how can we forget about Magnus? He has the most “cameos” (if we can even call them that) of any other character in the Shadowhunters series!

2. Take Me Home Tonight by Morgan Matson

In a chaotic and whirlwind night out in New York City, everything goes wrong for Kat and Stevie. With broken phones, a wild pomeranian chase, and uncertain futures, their friendship is put to the ultimate test. Long time Morgan Matson fans will recognize several characters from past books such as Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour, Second Chance Summer, and Since You’ve Been Gone. It’s a Morgan Matson Universe!

3. Misfit in Love by S.K Ali

In this sequel to Saints and Misfits, Janna is trying to enjoy her summer before she goes off to college. Between her brother getting married, a long-time crush coming back into her life, family drama, and two newcomers, Janna is overwhelmed. With a big cast of characters, the book also features a Zayneb and Adam appearance from Love from A to Z.

4. We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Quinn and Tarek’s family work together, one in wedding planning and the other in catering.  Naturally they help out in their respective family business and fate has them working side by side in many weddings over the summer. One of those weddings is for Neil’s (from Today Tonight Tomorrow) mother. During the event, we even get an adorable scene where Quinn and Tarek meet Rowan and Neil!

5. The Love & series by Jenna Evans Welch

Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

Love & Gelato, Love & Luck, and Love & Olives…what about Love & Cameos? In the second Love & novel, we make our way to beautiful Ireland with Addie and her family for a wedding. Addie has a stop planned in Italy to see her best friend, Lina who you may remember from Love & Gelato. In Love & Olives, we meet Liv who is visiting her estranged father in Greece. She is Addie’s soccer teammate back home.

6. There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon

There’s Something About Sweetie tells the story of Sweetie and Ashish. Reeling from a recent breakup, Ashish agrees to his parents’ matchmaking. However, the catch is that most of the dates will be arranged by their family and they are definitely not what he had in mind. Because Ashish is Rishi’s younger brother from When Dimple Meets Rishi, there are many scenes with Dimple and Rishi throughout the book.
