The finale to the Powerless Trilogy is nearly here, and we’re celebrating by rounding up the best quotes that have been revealed so far! What’s next for Paedyn, Kai, Kitt, and the Kingdom of Ilya? Only time will tell, but for now, these teasers from Lauren Roberts herself will have to do!

“I’m selfish, Paedyn. I burned your home to the ground just to have you and now it is all of Ilya standing in my way, tempting me to light a match.”

“You don’t need a blade, I would bleed if only you asked.”

“Then I wouldn’t ask,” I retort sternly.

“No, you wouldn’t.” He steps out into the hall, tossing his next damning sentence over a shoulder. “As my queen, you would command it.”

We are inevitable.

We are tragedy.

“…Bow at my feet with a sneer, if you must. I won’t see it with your face to the ground.”

“She is my Silver Savior. And hating her is not as simple as it may seem.”

“Pae, let me force every person in this kingdom to their knees for you.”

“I would spend the rest of my days making her flower crowns if she wanted to be a queen. My queen. Not Kitt’s. Not Ilya’s. Mine.”

“It is cruel, not being able to call him mine after everything we’ve endured.”

“You’re not supposed to touch me at all.”

“But you could command me to,” I drawl. “Then I’d simply be following an order.”

Fearless cover image
Fearless by Lauren Roberts

I must admit that I was a bit late to reading Powerless (I only picked it up two months ago), but once I was in, I was IN. I absolutely devoured the series and with the way Reckless ended… I have simply been waiting to know what Paedyn does next! Ever since the cover reveal, I know we have all been tormented by the question mark at the end of ‘destined for each other’. Even though I’m sure I know who I would pick, is Paedyn’s decision that simple? Who will she end up with: Kitt? Or Kai?

All Better Now cover image
All Better Now by Neal Shusterman

All Better Now is somehow the first Neal Shusterman book that I’ve read. After devouring it, I immediately (finally) read Scythe—and can confirm that both books will give you ALL the feels! All Better Now is a dystopian thriller that’s reminiscent of Station Eleven from Emily St. John Mandel, The Electric Kingdom from David Arnold, and also The Last of Us (minus the zombies!). I fell in love with the book’s multi-POV structure that follows different characters who must cope in a near-future version of our world where happiness becomes medically contagious, including one teen who is infected and another teen who isn’t. It’s Neal Shusterman at his best and provides a thought-provoking exploration of humanity’s future, so if you loved the Arc of a Scythe series, All Better Now should be your next read!
